STEAMBOAT SPRINGS: Although I used Steamboat Springs for almost two weeks as a home base, I took several trips during this time providing trail angel support. From Steamboat Springs, I drove to Rocky Mountain National Park, up and back to Rabbit Ears Pass seven times, north to Hwy. 64 north of Steamboat and back. Some great activities I was blessed to have experience alone and with many CDT hikers were July 4th, first Friday Art Walk, Balloon Rodeo, Strawberry Hot Springs, hiking up to upper Fish Falls, floating the Yampa River, hair cuts, pedicures, resupply, cooking, laughter, long walks along the river with Lucy and more. Thank you Don and Sheryl for the fantastic home base! We all had a great time- Groceries, Smudge, Birdy, Tibetan, Gabriel, Marmot, YoYo, Smiles, Stride, Shutterbug, SoulShine, Lucy and whewwwww we were not all there at the same time…it was a rolling week of hiker trash!
